Description The Thera-class carriers are designed to establish total aerospace fighter superiority for the, and they succeed. Capable of carrying four regiments of fighters, they can easily dominate a solar system. More importantly, the Thera-class ships make their crews comfortable so they can function more effectively on long deployments. Every officer has their own stateroom while the enlisted crew members are quartered two to a compartment, an almost unheard of luxury on a WarShip. The large Grav Decks allow the crew to maintain their health on long journeys. If the Thera has a weakness, it would be the low speed.
Engineers couldn't fit larger engines in the ship without reducing the size of the aerospace fighter bays. As the Thera was supposed to provide more Fighter support than any other carrier, the larger engines were removed from the design. Like other ships, each Thera-class ship carries a on board. Before the, the HPG was operated by personnel.
Armament Though not intended to enter combat against cruisers or battleships, a Thera still possesses a tremendous amount of firepower. The twenty make any WarShip or DropShip captain think twice about approaching. The ship's anti-Fighter defenses are even more impressive, starting with four missile launchers supplemented by LB-X Autocannon and Pulse Lasers. These weapons can easily put out enough firepower to destroy an aerospace Fighter in one salvo. If an enemy is somehow able to get a boarding party on a Thera they run into the last line of defense: 100 marines in.
These troops are dedicated to defending the ship against invaders. Cargo Appropriate for its role, the Thera devotes most of its cargo capacity to aerospace fighters. Bay 1 and Bay 2 can each carry 112 small craft, usually two regiments (108) aerospace fighters and four shuttles.
Cargo Bay 3 can carry 77,000 tons of spare parts, ammunition, or other supplies. In addition, the has permanently assigned each Thera a supporting group of Assault DropShips. These groups usually consist of, or class vessels.
The has also been used in this role; The design is produced at the plant on. Named Vessels.

Its actually really easy to trick yourself into believing that having guns means the enemy will just crumple like a tin can in the face of dakka, but because of how weird the accuracy of units in MTW2 is its actually rather deceptive. I'm pretty certain at least half of all shots(arrow, bullet, or otherwise) just miss outright for balance reasons. Archers seem to have greater accuracy than other ranged weaponry, but they're also generally weaker and I don't think any except higher-tier Longbowmen have AP Ammo.
Extreme gammon crack. Click to expand.Arrows and shot are in general deadlier in Medieval 2 than they are in real life; in real life most of your heavier knights with good plate armor would literally sit under a raid of arrows from Med 2 units and only be mildly annoyed. Even gunfire was only moderately effective with early firearms, So they had to buff archery and gunfire to get through period plate armor, and also had to debuff their accuracy so that you don't get entire ranks of knights getting felled in single volleys like Orcs in the opening to Fellowship of the Ring. Click to expand.Yep. Pretty much the only time an archer was going to penetrate plate is close range. With a proper warbow and the right kind of arrows.
And even then, the Knight had decent odds of surviving if they were in plate. Now, mail on the other hand. That's something you can more easily penetrate, but still you'll need to be relatively close to do it.
At long range, even guys in gambeson have pretty decent odds at just laughing off the arrows, or at least only being wounded by it. And that's completely ignoring shields.
'course, all it takes is an arrow to the eye to take someone out. But then again, helmets were the first thing a soldier bought and the ones you'd really wanna take out with a lucky shot were the ones who'd have better face protection by the period we're working in.
Prince Ulric did not rest easy, for he knew one final battle lay ahead before Ibellica was free of the stain of his enemies. Leading a scouting party personally, he rode east while the rest of his men rested and made merry in the rebel base of Hoth. Castle Otterbach. But even a cursory examination showed the formidable nature of her defenses. A mighty fortress, teeming with a grand host of Otterbach soldiers. Every man that the old families could muster was ready to defend their last redoubt.
It would take time to assemble a host that could take such a place. Ulric rode back, to send word out to his father and the rest of the Reich of what a brutal battle lay ahead. In the meantime, word came from the colonies in the west. A horde of savages had arrived from the north, threatening the fledgling colony! Hans Barbarossa had a ragtag collection of soldiers: pike and arquebus militia, and the support of a few local tribes who profited greatly from trade with the Reich.
It would have to be enough to see off the invaders. The soldiers of the east and the warriors of the west would stand together! Hans saw his enemy forming up, a fair distance away, but he did not let them rest. While his army claimed a small hill next to a settler's farm, the Faustian officer rode down with his cavalry and struck the native raiders! The exchange had the desired effect - it drew the natives out in a howl of anger and bloodlust, although it cost Hans' riders dearly. The savages advanced, wild and uncoordinated, and fell under bloody arquebus and arrow fire. Undaunted, the savages pushed forward, and suddenly the men of the Reich saw a horror emerge, charging from the middle of the native army: Massive, painted warriors wielding horrible spiked clubs!

With terrible speed, the giants close in and fell among the Reich's arquebusiers before they could retreat to safety. The native warriors rushed to the gunners' aid, but many had already died to the looming giants' weapons!

The ranks met, and Mesocalan ferocity collided with Faustian discipline! Hans rode among the enemy as the armies battled across the slopes. Now, with the invaders in disarray, he took hold of the chaos and ran down his enemies, pistols sounding like terrible thunder and swords cutting down Mesocalan savages left and right. The Reich pushed forward, a pike unit getting in the middle of the enemy line and pushing against the natives' flank. Some fled, unable to maintain their momentum and surrounded on all sides by long spears and rank upon rank of hardened men from Ibellica.
Others, including the giants, held their ground and died on their feet, lashing about and howling like mad beasts, and when they fell, their corpses landed atp the dead of the Reich. Hans, meanwhile, struck down the savages' chieftain, and that caused the mighty warriors to finally break ranks and scatter. The Reich stands victorious again! And let all who witness this battle see that Mesocalan and Ibellican blood was shed in equal measure on the field. It matters not where one comes from, or whether one carries an arquebus or stone axe. Those who raise arms in defense of the Reich and her people are the sons of Karl Faust! Click to expand.Hans actually routed for about ten seconds there, and I was genuinely worried we were going to lose.

I was pretty sure that I could win with the infantry, though Hans' charge was a gamble - and a necessary one, because we needed to pull the enemy off of a hill and into our guns; we would have lost a charge up the hill against their slingers and javelins. Quality often beats out quality, simply because I can flank and overwhelm enemy positions. Not mentioned in the battle (but kinda shown in the screenshots) is that I committed the Mesopec Archers to melee to augment the Mesopec Warriors, and they were able to hold the line until my pikes could roll up the Arrow Warriors and flank the Atzlan Warriors. Mesopec troops are trash, but they can die well and they run fast. Click to expand.Actually I've got a question, Hans lost a huge number of his bodyguard/friends.

Did he gain one of the traits that relates to that? For some it lowers Hitpoints and Morale IIRC for others they accept it and gain some Hitpoints. Because if Hans got the negative one thats going to be painful if he has to face off against another attack. Thankfully it was a rebel stack so it isn't that likely, but the Aztecs usually start booming early on because of the absurd cheapness of Mesocalan units.
